In these difficult times of a global pandemic, more and more of us are shopping online for the Christmas holidays. BPS Real Estate, your real estate agency in Ploërmel, first encourages you to shop at local businesses in the Ploërmel area. If you have last-minute purchases to make online, here are a few tips to help you do so safely.
Are you on a trusted site?
Nothing is easier than checking if you are indeed on a trusted website. Simply take a look to find the small padlock symbol usually located at the beginning of the site’s address (https) at the top of your screen. Otherwise, when it comes time to make your payment, it is important to spot the padlock, a symbol of assurance that you can proceed with your payment in full confidence. If you do not see any padlock symbol on the site, leave the page immediately and make your purchases on a trusted site.
Language errors
Nothing is more unpleasant than arriving at a website and discovering that the majority of the text contains spelling mistakes. It is likely a fraudulent site.
To be avoided at all costs…
– Are the displayed prices abnormally low? This is a way to attract customers. Check if the site is trustworthy.
– Are you being asked for your credit card details even before confirming your purchase? Leave the website page immediately.
– Does the site not accept credit cards? This is a sign that it is likely a fraudulent site.
With these few tips in hand, you can browse safely and do your online shopping for Christmas. Hurry, Christmas is only a week away! BPS Real Estate, your real estate agency in Ploërmel, wishes you happy holidays.
