If there is one world where everything is constantly changing, it is the field of interior decoration and design. With their knowledge and experience, interior architects are well placed to anticipate what will be on trend in the months ahead. If you have just purchased a property and are lacking interior design inspiration, here is an overview of the trends for the coming year.
Cobalt blue
For some time now, teal blue has coloured more than one wall in homes in Morbihan. The arrival of 2020 brings with it the on-trend colour: cobalt blue. Voted colour of the year by several different websites, this shade stands out for its elegance and immediately brings to mind the natural elements of the sea and the sky. This colour will enhance any residence in Brittany, a land of sea and ocean.
The importance of creating contrasts
In 2020, the famous hashtag #imnotperfect (not perfect) that is all the rage on social media will also make its way into our homes. The new trend will be to find a way to introduce imbalance into a room. Are you already wondering how to do this in your home? Nothing could be simpler than adding cushions that do not match on the living room sofa, or adding a piece of furniture that stands out because of its colour or shape. Another tip is to combine old with modern. That is to say, highlight an old object by placing it on a more modern or contemporary piece of furniture.
Wood: an essential material
To further enhance cobalt blue, voted colour of the year 2020, wood remains a timeless choice in home décor. It is best kept completely natural, without stain or paint. It is the ideal material, perfectly complementing the notion of land, sea and ocean—an image that resonates in the hearts of all Bretons.
